At Trailwoods we are committed to continuous improvement of instruction as we strive to produce world-class learners. We provide a strong and challenging curriculum with a particular emphasis on reading and math. We believe that every student has the ability, and the desire, to learn. We believe that each student is an individual and as such has individual needs and a learning style of their own. Trailwoods Elementary School serves approximately 400 students from diverse backgrounds in our pre-kindergarten through sixth grade programs.
We encourage and welcome parent participation. Trailwoods SAC greatly enriches our school and the lives of our students and is vital to our success. We are proud of our students, staff and school, and we welcome the opportunity to share additional information with you.






Principal Principal: Christy Harrison

 
Christy Harrison is the principal of Trailwoods Elementary School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Central Missouri State University and her Master's and Specialist of Education in Administration from William Woods University. Mrs. Harrison recently returned to the Kansas City area from Rockford, Illinios were she served as vice prinicipal in an elementary school. She has been in education for 11 years, six in the classroom as a 3rd and 5th grade teacher and five as a administrator.

Mrs. Harrison believes strongly in the concept of lifelong learning and ensuring that every student receives the highest quality education. She is committed to ensuring that students leave Trailwoods with the academic, social and emotional skills necessary to succeed in life.
