Hello parents, I am Patricia Hayes, Principal of Melcher Elementary School. On behalf of myself and the staff of Melcher Elementary School, we would like to welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year! This summer has been spent making plans for a successful academic school year with the knowledge that we must Dream It, Believe It, Achieve It, and we will Succeed in It!! Melcher continues to enhance it’s culture and climate of positive behavior and success in learning as we introduce to the parents, students and community a shared mission that includes nurturing the total child which leads to academic and social excellence.
An important element of Melcher Elementary School’s culture focuses on Positive Behavior Instructional Support (PBIS). As a school, we are working to help each and every student be a Melcher RAM (a Responsible student, with Awesome Attendance & Attitude, showing Major growth in academics)! We also practice SOAR (be Safe, be Orderly, have a positive Attitude and always be Respectful). Parents and students, we welcome you to our 2016/17 school year.
Attendance is a big part of the academic and the character success of students. Parents, please remember, every minute counts! Students arriving late or leaving early negatively impact their attendance, their learning and their (RAM) rating. As a reminder, classes begin at 9:00 a.m. and dismissal is not until 4:00 p.m. Once again, welcome to our school, and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to join our parent group – the Student Advisory Committee (SAC).
